Drilling, cone penetration test | field testing / field measurements


Our drill, a KB 20 from the Kurth company, is ideal because of its compact dimensions, low weight and careful underground chassis. It is suitable for operations in private gardens, e. g. for geothermal energy- or well drilling, as well as for complex subsoil investigations with core exploitation from major depths with the least possible sample impact. The drill is designed for piped dry-drilling up to a depth of 400 m, the use of a (hollow-) drill auger and hydraulic-circulation drilling.

Our probe crawler enables direct and indirect ground explorations via driving core probing and dynamic probing. The probing equipment is designed for operations in unconsolidated soil and depths up to 10 m. The probe crawler is a track vehicle, thus operations on rough terrain are unproblematic. Applications in cramped conditions, e. g. in gardens, are possible due to its compact construction.

Cone Penetration Testing (CPT)

Our company has two devices for the execution of CPTu pursuant to DIN EN ISO 22476-1: A 35 tons cone penetration testing system for ground reconnaissance onshore and a Geotechnical Offshore Seabad Tool.

Our Seabad tool can be used equally on- as well as offshore for ground reconnaissance by means of CPTu. Onshore our tool can be used in the field of canal construction, pipeline construction or even groundwater production. The CPTu data is compatible to DIN 4094.

Our 35 tons cone penetration testing truck allows to explore densely bedded sands in depths of more than 30 m because of its high dead weight. The data recording occurs with a digital compression-cone from the A. O. van den Berg company. Cone resistance, friction sleeve and pore water pressure are measured so that dissipation tests can be executed in the field. The cone penetration testing unit can provide information of the pontoon in port engineering.

Field testing/ field measurements

Depending on the task, the geotechnical engineering has different field tests and geotechnical field measurements which are executed for the determination of ground parameters on-site. We support you in recording, evaluation and interpretation of data with following methods:

  • Dynamic plate-loading test (light drop weight)

  • Determination of the water permeability of the ground afield
  • Static and dynamic pile load tests

    Survey & Stability

    Surveys have to be composed in the course of geotechnical or geophysical ground reconnaissance, onshore as well as offshore. We carry them out in pursuant to the standards.

    We develop subsequent to the investigation of detached- and apartment houses, office buildings, halls and road- and path construction the geotechnical report. It fulfills DIN 4020 as well as DIN EN 1997-2 and is the basis for the project development of the foundation assessmen.
